Teaching VCE History in 2024 - 16 Nov 23

This event is aimed at pre-service teachers, teachers unfamiliar with VCE History, or experienced teachers who feel they would like more guidance with interpreting the Study Design. Participants will be advised on how best to prepare to teach Revolutions (Units 3 & 4), Australian History (3 & 4), Ancient History (1–4), Modern History (1 & 2), and Empires (1 & 2) in 2024.

Michael Spurr, Acting Curriculum Manager (History), Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA)

In this session Michael will answer a series of Frequently Asked Questions about VCE History and provide advice on implementing the study design.
1.45pm – 2.00pm Afternoon tea (light refreshments)
2.00pm – 3.00pm Session 2: VCE History Units 3 and 4
Each session includes:
  • An overview of the course: brief content and skills summary
  • Key resources for the classroom
  • Advice on assessment tasks
  • Ways of developing and assessing historical thinking skills.
