As our community unites to keep each other safe through COVID-19, HTAV have acted in accordance with the latest advice and recommendations relating to social distancing.

Professional Learning Events

  • 22 April: HTAV Annual General Meeting
    Proceeding: The AGM will be conducted via video/online conferencing. Anyone wishing to attend the ‘virtual meeting’ is very welcome to join in. Details of how you can ‘attend’ the AGM will be provided soon.
  • 1-2 May: History Teachers’ Regional Summit – Beechworth
    Rescheduled: The Regional Summit in Beechworth is moving to March/April 2021. We are working with Indigo Shire Council to bring you this unique opportunity of professional learning, networking and fun in the new year. Stay tuned for new dates soon.
  • 23-24 July: HTAV Annual Conference – History: Roaring into the 20s
    Merging: The flagship event of our year is merging with the Middle Years History Conference to provide a two-day smorgasbord of professional learning and networking for secondary school History teachers. It will cover History Levels 7-12.

  • 6 September: VCE History Exam Revision Student Lectures
    No change: At this stage registrations are still open and we expect that the VCE History Exam Revision Student Lectures will proceed as normal. We will inform all registered students and teachers if this changes.
  • 19 November: Teaching VCE History in 2021
    No change: This event is proceeding as planned and registrations will open during Term 3.
  • VCAA New History Study Design Implementation Sessions
    Rescheduled: The VCAA announced that the implementation of the newly accredited VCE History Study Design will be delayed by 12 months and will be delivered by schools in 2022. As a result, the VCAA/HTAV sessions that were scheduled to provide information and advice about the newly accredited VCE History Study Design have also been delayed and will now be offered during 2021.

Publications and Dispatch

Keep supporting us and ordering from our online shop. We’ll get your purchases to you, though there will sometimes be a slight delay in dispatch.

Our fabulous new Revolutions textbooks, for the 2021-2025 Study Design, are on track and will be ready for you to booklist as usual.
