Conference Bursaries for History Teachers

Supporting teachers to connect and flourish

HTAV's Vision and Purpose states that History in Victorian schools will be rigorous, engaging and appropriately valued because teachers of History will be properly resourced, connected to each other and connected to sources of authoritative knowledge and advice.

As part of our commitment to achieving these aims, HTAV is offering bursary support for History teachers for whom the fees to attend professional learning may present a barrier.

The bursaries include attendance to the HTAV 2026 Annual Conference on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 August 2026.

Who can nominate?

The bursaries are open to six History teachers from six different schools that meet the following criteria:

• History teacher linked as a member to a 2026 HTAV Victorian secondary school located more than 200 km from Melbourne CBD w an ICSEA score below 950 membership
  
  OR
• History teacher linked as a member to a HTAV School membership belonging to a government school that opened in the past three years.

Nominations close Monday 20 July 2026.
HTAV will contact applicants the week of Monday 27 July.
