2015 HTAV Primary School Teacher Award

In 2013, the HTAV decided to recognise the contribution made by a primary school member to the association and the teaching of History in primary schools.
Award for Excellent and Sustained Contribution to the Teaching and Learning of History and to the HTAV by a Primary Teacher.
The recipient of this award will be a primary teacher and will have demonstrated excellence in and commitment to the teaching and learning of history and the activities of the association in at least three of the following criteria:
Selection Criteria
- shown interest, enthusiasm and inspiration in undertaking teaching, and in promoting student learning within the discipline of History in primary schools.
- demonstrated innovation in the design and presentation of content and/or courses.
- demonstrated a sustained contribution to the association’s professional learning program or publications.
- demonstrated a sustained involvement in the board or executive of the association.
- shown commitment to their own professional development in relation to History education.
Prize
The winner of this award will be presented with a certificate and will receive a 2016 complimentary membership of the association.
Eligibility
- current or past individual member of the association;
- current or past employee of a member school or organisation;
- current or past staff member of the association;
- current or past board member of the association.
Nominations
- All nominations must be in writing and must include a statement detailing the nature of the candidate’s contribution to the HTAV and/or the profession of History teaching. This statement should respond to three or more of the selection criteria and the contribution should be regarded as exemplary.
- All nominations must be seconded.
- All nominations will be reviewed by an Awards Committee, and awards will be conferred at the 2015 HTAV/GTAV Creating Connections: Geography and History F-6 Conference on Monday, 25 May.
