Who is the best History teacher you know?

5 Sep 22

Is it someone you work with now? A colleague from a previous school? A network leader in your region?

Or perhaps you have been supervising or mentoring a new History teacher and you can tell already that they are going to be sensational.

The HTAV Awards exist so that these people can be seen and acknowledged by their professional community. They are not being great in order to achieve recognition; we know that teachers strive to be great as a service to their students. But it would still be uplifting and re-energising to have their expertise, knowledge, commitment and hard work praised by the people who really understand it – their peers.

Only you can make this happen.

Please consider nominating a History teacher, or a teaching team, for an HTAV Award. Categories include Primary and Secondary History teachers, early career and pre-service teachers, excellence by a teaching team, and a ‘special contribution’ to the teaching and learning of History in Victoria.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. The HTAV Office is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. These lands were never ceded. We pay our respect to their ancestors and Elders, past and present.

Please note: Indigenous Australians are advised that the HTAV website may include images or names of people now deceased.
