Skills-Based Session

Skills-Based Session: The Dos and Don’ts of the Year 12 VCE History Examinations
Ian Lyell, Camberwell Girls Grammar School

Every year students make basic, avoidable mistakes in the VCE History exams that cost them crucial marks. Students will be guided through the things they need to do in order to demonstrate their knowledge and skills and maximise their chances of success. Everything from the importance of neat handwriting to the best way to structure longer written responses will be discussed. The crucial significance of reading time, and how to use these minutes wisely, will also be considered. This session will be relevant to all three VCE Histories: Revolutions, Ancient History and Australian History.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. The HTAV Office is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. These lands were never ceded. We pay our respect to their ancestors and Elders, past and present.

Please note: Indigenous Australians are advised that the HTAV website may include images or names of people now deceased.
