Benefits of Membership
With history high on the political agenda and with the Australian History Curriculum (p-10) to be implemented in 2013, there has never been a better time to join the HTAV. Nor have there ever been so many benefits. As a professional teaching association, the HTAV can represent your interests and keep you informed about developments as they happen.
The HTAV can also provide the assistance you need – no matter what your level of experience or the perspective of history you are looking for. Here are some of the ways we can help you do your job more effectively and accurately:
- providing curriculum development and resource advice
- supporting networks of teachers experienced in all areas of history
- a professional development program
- a lecture series for VCE and IB students
- relevant and affordable teaching and learning resources
- support of History competitions such as the National History Challenge, the Simpson Prize and Australian History Competition.
Membership with HTAV includes many other benefits, including access to our journal Agora, and newsletter the Bulletin, access to the HTAV members-only website area, email updates, free member events and welcome packs for individual members. Agora can be provided in a hardcopy format for an additional fee of $45.00.
The HTAV invites all History/Humanities teachers, Primary and Secondary schools, educational institutions, publishers and cultural organisations to join the HTAV for 2012 and enjoy the many benefits of membership.
